The work submitted must be the responsibility of and be directed by a member or members of the SGD in the relevant membership category for
the Award.
Entries for the Student Design Award must have been completed whilst a student. For all other Award categories only projects with a practical
completion date of between January 1st 2007 and May 18th 2012 are eligible for entry.
All entries must be submitted on the official entry form (which can be photocopied or downloaded from the website) and sent with the entry fee.
All supporting documentation such as written material, photographs, images, plans, designs, budgets and plant lists must be submitted in digital
format on cd/dvd by the deadline date. In addition, paper copies of each element of the submission should be sent flat (or A3 folded where
necessary) in an A4 size wallet or folder. All documents and cd/dvds must be clearly marked with the name of the entrant and the Award category
entered.
All entry forms must be completed in full and the conditions of entry strictly adhered to.
Payment of the appropriate fee must accompany each. A receipted vat invoice will be supplied.
No entries may be withdrawn after receipt and all payments made are non-returnable. Entrants may submit as many individual entries as they
wish in all categories and the same garden may be entered into more than one category. Please note that if the same garden is entered into
more than one category, the entire entry presentation must be duplicated, so there are separate and clearly identified submissions for each entry.
The organisers reserve the right to add or remove judges, amend entry criteria and amend or merge Award categories without notice or
explanation.
A site visit may be necessary and an appointment to arrange the visit will be made with the representative detailed on the entry form.
Please note that the name you submit with your entry will be the details used on any subsequent promotional, advertising and marketing material.
Entry to the SGD Awards will be taken as a right to publish, broadcast, promote and display on-line the photographs, images, descriptions and
other particulars and materials of all submissions together with any photography or images from the Awards presentation. Entry confirms that
entrants have obtained all necessary consents, permissions and clearances in respect of any third party rights regarding any such particulars,
images and materials.
Please note that entries cannot be returned.
All entries received after the closing date or those failing to include the required information when due will not be considered for an Award.
The SGD reserves the right to reject any materials submitted as unsuitable in specification or quality and to request replacement.
No entry is required for categories 13: People's Choice & 15: SGD Grand Award as these Awards will be selected from the entries received. Category 14: John Brookes Award is awarded by SGD Council.
Should the judging panels feel that none of the work meets the required standard then an Award may not be given.
The publicity for the Awards will be handled solely by the SGD in line with prior agreement made with its media partners. Applicants cannot issue
information to the UK press without the express permission from the SGD
