• Entries for the Student Design Award must have been completed whilst a student. For all other Award categories only projects with a practical
completion date of between January 1st 2007 and May 18th 2012 are eligible for entry.”
• Judging will be by an independent panel appointed by the SGD Council. The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• The shortlisted finalists will be announced in each Award category following the judge’s decision. The overall winner in each category will be
announced at the SGD Awards Ceremony in London in November 2012.
• Complete projects should be submitted for all Award categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. All parts and aspects of the project will be included in the judging
process. It is not permissible for specific aspects only to be submitted.
• In the event of your selection as a shortlisted finalist you will receive a framed certificate of the Award for you, the client or any associated
educational body. We will provide digital copies of the Award and Award finalist logo for the designer, the client (or the educational body where
student members are studying).
• In the event of your winning an Award you will receive a framed certificate of the Award for you, the relevant contractor and the client or any
associated educational body. We will provide digital copies of the Award and Award winner logo for the designer, the relevant contractor and the
client or the educational body where student members are studying.
• Relevant contractor: for example for the complete projects categories this would be the main contractor. For the lighting award this would be the
contractor who installed the lighting and who may not be the main contractor for the overall project.
• We will provide as many extra unframed certificates as you require, at additional cost.
• Checklist for submission:
i. Entry fee. Payable by credit/debit card. Alternatively by cheque made payable to ‘Society of Garden Designers’
ii. Completed entry form. All sections must be completed.
iii. Supporting documents.
• Judges will be looking for clearly and concisely presented information giving as much detail as possible about the garden, site or landscape entered.
Entrants must also ensure that all submitted documents are in the required format.
• Please ensure you include your name, membership number and Award category number on each part of your submission for the Awards, including
the CD and all printed material.
• Send one CD containing all plans and all written material supplied as a PDF, a reference sheet for the images and completed entry form.
• All images to be supplied at 300 dpi jpeg.
• One hard copy, A4 or A3 folded to A4. (Please note that rolled or otherwise folded entries will not be accepted). Please ensure a list of referenced
printed material is included with each submission.
• The CD and printed material to be submitted in an A4 wallet clearly marked with the designers name, membership number and Award category. One
wallet must be submitted per entry.
