How To Enter

Please read the Awards 2019 Entry Information Document before you enter the SGD Awards. This document includes important information on who can enter, rules of entry and details of what materials to submit for each category.


With categories ranging from Planting Design to  International Garden, for which judges are particularly keen to see gardens of all sizes and concepts built outside the UK.  There is something for everyone, regardless of whether you are starting out on your career or an experienced designer.

Entry Fees

Early Bird rate applies to entry fees paid for the Main Awards (1-13) before 27th April 2018.  To benefit from the Early Bird price you need to pay the fee/fees and complete the entry form before the early bird date. Different dates & fees apply for Student Categories .


At the heart of the SGD Awards is  an independent panel of Judges drawn from across the industry.  The judges are respected experts including designers, academics, journalists and horticultural professionals.

If you’re wondering why we have moved from the SGD Awards 2017 straight to the SGD Awards 2019, we’ve done so in order to bring the awards and the ceremony into alignment and give winners and finalists the opportunity to promote their awards in the appropriate year.
